Our tactical instructor Rob has vast experience, both in the military and security field, serving in various theatres of conflict, most recently in Iraq. He started his military service with 2 Commando in Australia and then contracted to American controlled forces in Laos. His focus is on tactics more so than shooting as a sport or game.
Rob’s philosophy is: “More people are killed not because they have a gun or because they don’t have a gun, but for the simple reason they are not being taught how to stay alive.”
After leaving Laos (South East Asia the war that never was) he became a member of The British Parachute Regiment serving three tours in Northern Ireland, with the second battalion The British parachute regiment. One tour in Northern Ireland was with a military covert unit called the MRF Military reaction force.
Rob became a member of C Squadron Special Air Service (Rhodesia) and was a Badged operator (A soldier of any rank that has successfully completed the Special Air Service selection and is or has been a member of the Special Air Service) in the Rhodesian conflict. He was invalided out due to wounds received when on external operations with the Special Air Service. He returned to active duty with the squadron and at the end of the Rhodesian conflict was recruited by the SADF into 6 Reconnaissance Commando. He later became a “Consultant” for South African Military Intelligence.
He did 2 tours in Iraq doing convoy and route reconnaissance for American Controlled Force, receiving a letter and certificate of Commendation from GOC American Forces Task Force Freedom Mosul.
Rob has been operational in the Security and Mission field with various NGOs relief and church groups as well as others interested parties working in Angola, Mozambique and South Sudan, at the height of conflicts to assist persecuted Churches or to train and assist.
Today he contracts out, in a CQP Personal protection role. Or speaking to interested groups that want to understand and improve their survival rate. He is an associate member of Impelling risk management, having worked with them in a convoy and escort roll.
Because of his expertise in security, military and Counter-propaganda, he has instructing interested parties in security, defence and related issues. He is of the opinion as is CGOS, that without the right information and instruction your survival becomes a matter of luck.
Our mantra is “We teach tactics, it’s not a sport and it’s not a game”
